Aptly named, the clean, quiet Brookside Neighborhood is traversed by scenic Minnehaha Creek. Tucked away, yet easily accessible, the neighborhood is bounded by Excelsior Boulevard, Highway 100, the Edina city limits and Brookside Avenue – the only street west of Highway 100 in St. Louis Park that connects to Edina.
This enchanting enclave of well-maintained single-family homes was first subdivided in 1908, and half of the roughly 320 houses in the neighborhood were built before 1933. Neighborhood amenities include Jackley Park and Brookside Community Center, with Meadowbrook Golf Course is just a few blocks to the west. There’s a convenient base of retail and commercial services on Excelsior Boulevard, with more extensive shopping, dining and entertainment just five minutes away in the Miracle Mile, Excelsior and Grand, Knollwood, and Uptown areas.
Brookside is also one of St. Louis Park’s proudest and most active neighborhoods, with a neighbors’ group that hosts a kids’ 4th of July Parade, an August barbeque, a Halloween Party and other lively social events. |
